We all have come to terms with the fact that there are people who do love the decibels and exuberance of our morning shows and also there are people who have come to terms that on the matter of morning shows; they will get worse from here. They have realized that if today we have live exorcisms and weddings of celebrities, it won’t be long before on either of shows devil will be summoned himself to do a tell all on why he is hell bent on destroying humanity. We have started to live with that and for those who hate these types shows live in the nostalgia of golden days of Roshan Pakistan and change the channel.
I don’t know what will become of our morning shows in near future, but I do want to take the opportunity to highlight a sane voice in this noise of hitting the highest TRP. Like I said where over the top stuff has become a norm we have a person like Farah Hussain who is willing to sit down with her guests and do plain talking. Well she is without a doubt not getting the highest TRP, but she is fulfilling all the requirements of making our morning informative and not emotionally challenging.
What makes Farah’s show the best?
I know sitting down with the audience and talking seems a little bit boring, but why I call her the best morning show host has its reasons.
Her language is beautiful.
There is allot to learn only from the way she speaks. Her dialect, pronunciation and presentation in Urdu are near perfect. If you really want to have a better understanding about the sentence construction, delivery and grammar regarding Urdu; this is your show. She is pretty good in her language and she is not afraid to use the best literary references from the language; which help allot.
She has varied guests.
Well you might argue that this is the case in pretty much every other show. Well yes there are guests from different backgrounds in every other show, but they lack the conversation which Farah develops with her guests. Her questions are relevant and never lose interest from audience, and in return those questions are met by informative responses which makes her audience learn about something new every time. Plus the guests she has on her show are regular people, with ideas. She does not have run off the mill weddings or recurring flashback tear fests. That’s the reason that whenever we get to see any of her guests or when she is showing an emotional side we believe it.
She dresses nice.
Unlike most of the morning show hosts (male or female) who (for women) look like they are coming out of a mehndi function every morning for (for men) who are going to pose for some magazine cover; she is decently dressed, not underwhelmed or not too flamboyant. This kind of dressing sense imparts a very important message (along with her intellect); that it is not always about clothes of the layers of makeup (which is not hiding your age), instead it’s about up there in your skull which is matter the most always.
People loved her in her debut play ‘Bandhan’ and they love her graceful and calm presentation as the morning host. She delivers every morning a strong message to women who are watching, she delivers a message of intellect, tolerance and she fights taboos and clichés which are made so relevant by all other morning shows.
As the men of the morning show experiment with new hairstyles inspired from the hero of Ramleela to the women who turn into vigilantes fighting crime and devil in the broad daylight of morning shows; Farah Hussain has developed a strong fan base and following and they are never disappointed by her.
